Fixing your AIM bot time out errors and more.

Hi everyone.
1.For those who are having a time out error on their AIM bots
and this error is 10060.
Error 10060 is a WinSock error and can be fixed promptly by updating your computer with your version of WinSock for your version of windows etc.
How does error 10060 occure?
Error 10060 occures when Adware, MalWare and malicious programs install themselves onto your computer and corrupt your WinSock.

2.Error 10061 is a (Port) Error and is generally caused by a FireWall that has left a port (closed) when that FireWall is (Exited).
(ZoneAlarm) is one program that does from time to time leave ports (closed) after the program is signed off.
Fixing Error 10061 can be promptly repaired simply by turning your FireWall back on.

Best of wishes and brand new discoveries.
Jerry.

Hello Onthecuttingedge2005,
Thanks for that post!
Also, if you can please post a link to where you obtained that information from. I had trouble finding that kind of information at the Microsoft Knowledge Base and AIM Help sites, so whatever else you can give me would be very helpful too...I even checked around at some communication and security forums to no avail. Fixing stuff like Winsock and Registry and Adware and all that other garbage is my Bread-and-Butter!
Thanks Again,
Rich_A

Hello everybody.

I wanted to do a survey on the AIM bot log-ins on all bot of this forum to see if Everybody known to Zabaware is having this 10060
winsock error, If everybody is experiencing this error then it has to be a winsock or socket error on the server that hasn't been fixed or our AIM bots log-in software has become obsolete in someway.

What we need is a way to splice HAL directly into the current AIM version 5.5 instead of the current log-in software thats always timing out.

As far as information on error 10060 just do a Google search
for: What is error 10060

We need a way to plug into AIM 5.5 in realtime.
Best of wishes and brand new discoveries.
Jerry.

Hello Onthecuttingedge2005,
I suggested a similar thing repeatedly at this forum regarding the the AIM Bot time-out/sign-on errors. These types of time-out errors are usually generated from either not being able to poll-out/blockage or not being able to connect in after you get out, so I have to agree with you on everything that you just suggested. Let's just hope that it happens sometime soon. I also once did a Google search for error 10060 and had no luck but maybe I just overlooked something at the time. Thanks Again!

Hi Spydaz,

Microsoft's Definition for Winsock: A Windows implementation of the widely used UC Berkeley Sockets API. Windows Sockets is a networking API used to create TCP/IP-based sockets applications. Windows Sockets provides interfaces between applications and the transport protocol and works as a bidirectional connection for incoming and outgoing data. Also called WinSock.

Other Definition:
Windows Socket is a standard way that Windows programs can communicate with other machines using the TCP/IP protocol. When your PC is connected to the Internet, you're using WinSock. WWW directory It is a directory automatically created as a subdirectory of your home directory. Your web pages, cgi-bin directory, and other files and directories for the web go there.

Hi
I got a timeout error 10060, so I either got malware or I got a winsock problem or is it just the incompatable SP2?

I'll check it out when i got some time:)
I dream of creating a self replicating, self maintaining, autonomous robot :)

Hello Kevinvr and Everyone Else,
I still occasionally get those Timeout Errors and I have no Malwhere or Winsock problem, and I am also running an older XP version than the newest SP2. So I still think this AIM Bot program just plain sucks and that's all there is too it! Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't!
